Yay! I am writing this on my new computer! After a year of watching a small blue dot in the corner of my almost five year old Mac Book leak and spread beneath the screen, kind of like a lava lamp, I finally got a brand new Mac Air 13. It is heavenly. I can see the time now, how much battery I have left, and all of the Toolbar! Quite an improvement. Of course, I'm terrified of the thing, so I'm spending a little bit of time this morning getting to know it. So far, not too bad. I can find my documents but I can't figure out how to access them. Also can't make my document big like I like it AND show the toolbar. But the keyboard is a dream, and the Air is so light. I was a bit disappointed to learn that writers can't write on IPads--I had a fantasy of lugging around something that wouldn't break my back. But alas, everyone from the Apple geniuses to my writer buddies confirmed that real writers need computers. But then writer buddies almost unanimously sanctioned the Air. It weighs under three pounds, and with my travel schedule this is a real plus. So I already love it. And soon I'll be able to actually do everything I need to do on it...

Still enjoying my time at home this week. Last night I made my famous spaghetti carbonara (I have started adding scallions to it, like they do at Otto in NYC, and it takes it to a new level), had a couple glasses of malbec with it, then watched Smash and an old Daly Show. Asleep by 10:30 and woke up at 7. I am getting rested! And I love spending a morning just catching up with emails and projects. I have a friend's birthday lunch today, a knitting class tonight followed by cocktails with buddies. The sun is shining. Big sigh.

Happy to announce that I sent in my revised manuscript of THE OBITUARY WRITER. Now I'm holding my breath for comments from my fabulous editor. The cover is GORGEOUS! I would post it here but I'm without a web person, which leads me to asking if anyone out there does web stuff? I need someone who can very rarely update or add a feature to my website. You won't get rich from this, but I do need someone who is efficient and knowledgable.

Back to my lazy morning...
