Greetings from beautiful Woodstock, NY where I have come for the Woodstock Writers Festival. My panel, Memoir A Go Go, led by the fabulous Martha Frankel, is today at 4. But Cousin Gloria-Jean and I arrived here yesterday just in time to catch the songwriting panel, with--amongst others--our adolescent idol, John Sebastian. To have him standing about six inches away from me, playing his guitar and singing Welcome back, was enough to make me grin all day. I have knit two white dish rags that GJ and I tie dyed to give him tonight at dinner. Then I will probably pass out with joy.
It is rainy and gray here, but still: What a day for a daydream!
I have a busy week of events coming up, beginning with an appearance at the Barnes in Noble in Smithfield, RI on tomorrow from
6-8.
Tuesday night I will be at the Hopkinton Library in Hopkinton, MA at 7PM.
Wednesday night I am hosting the book club at the most fabulous Newtonville Books. I will be discussing SO LONG, SEE YOU TOMORROW by William Maxwell.
I hope to see you at one of these!
Now, breakfast and Sunday NY Times. Some browsing along the main street. Me humming Do You Believe in Magic...
