Aloha from Honolulu! I have been here on Waikiki Beach, teaching at the Maui (!) Writers Conference for over a week now. Last year, I was in Maui but the conference was moved here this year. Great students! Great faculty, including Jackie Mitchard and Anne LeClaire. And Honolulu has some amazing restaurants! Today is my day off, finally, and I am going to sit on the beach under the palm trees and read.

But I do want to share some news with you. On September 3, an essay I wrote and read for the "I Believe" series on WRNI (the RI NPR station) will be aired. WRNI is at 1290 AM or 102.7 FM. The segment will be aired at 6:35 AM, 8:35 AM, and 5:44 PM. But even if you do not live in Rhode Island, you can hear it live by going to www.wrni.org and clicking Listen Live in the upper left hand corner. After it airs, you can listen to it on the website any time. This series is wonderful, and I am so delighted to be a part of it!
