I am knee deep in yarn! Today I decided to organize my knitting room, which required a lot of bagging, moving of furniture and general back breaking work. A good thing to do. Last week, Annabelle had surgery on both of her thumbs. She had a very common thing called trigger thumbs, and the surgery really was minor. But I don't know if I can ever enter the world of doctors and hospitals with any confidence again. Even worse, the waiting room was right next to the ICU where Grace died. Luckily, my friends and cousin Gloria-Jean came to hold my hand. I brought knitting, and all of those things helped. But I was happy to take her home, put on our jammies, and climb into bed together to watch the Tinkerbell movie. Such relief. Such joy.
It has been a wonderful few weeks of events on Cape Cod, around RI, and a fun weekend at a knitting retreat with my friend Mary in New Mexico. I have a reading in Worcester next week and one in NYC. For details, check my Events here.
Annabelle's sweater is really coming along! I am so excited. The armholes appeared when they were supposed to, and the stripes are nice and straight. I can't wait to finish it! Today I went to read her favorite books (TIKI TIKI TEMBO and THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA) to her class. That was so much fun, and she was so proud.
Sam is the Ghost of Christmas Present in a Black Box production of A Christmas Carol. Can't wait to see it!
Our dear dog Zuzu was diagnosed with a tick borne disease similar to Lyme Disease, poor thing. But luckily they found it early and she is able to eat chicken and rice for three weeks while she is on antibiotics.
We are having about 25 people here for Thanksgiving and we have started to plan the menu. I love Thanksgiving--the food and family and friends all together. I hope yours is wonderful!
