We had our first snow today! How wonderful to wake up and see the branches outside my bedroom window frosted with snow! Okay, most of it has already melted. But we ate homemade waffles while the snow continued to fall. And I put Annabelle in her snowsuit and boots so that she and Sam could go outside and play in the snow. So it was a perfect first snowfall.

Our Thanksgiving was busy, chaotic, full of food and family and friends. What more can anyone ask for? The night before we had about two dozen people helping us cook for the big day. HAIR soundtrack seemed to be everybody's favorite this year, bumping out Motown. I had a turducken sent from Louisiana: a chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey. A carnivore's delight. Luckily, my niece Melissa the vegetarian made two big batches of my father's homemade mac and cheese. I have asked for a smoker for Christmas with hopes that next Thanksgiving Eve we will be eating all kinds of yummy smoked things!

Draft of my new novel is finished, and I am on pins and needles waiting for my agent's comments on it. She is brilliant, and always has good suggestions on how to make everything better.

I am on the sleeves of Annabelle's sweater! In other words, almost done! And knitting dish towels for my friend Drake's house warming gift, and as a thank you to the wonderful children's book writer, Amy Krouse Rosenthal. Amy sent Annabelle a big batch of her books.

Looking forward to Christmas, to Sam's opening night Wednesday in A Christmas Carol, to Annabelle's eyes when she sees that Sam got her a real live bunny named Honey Bunny for Christmas, to waking up with Lorne on Christmas morning and feeling joyful and grateful. I wish you all the same.
