Writing this from home--at last! After a wonderful week in Denver, Lexington and Louisville, KY it is so good to be in my own little red house. Had too many travel adventures yesterday: cancelled flight, broken bus, delays upon delays. But finally made it home to RI at about 9 last night. Overslept this morning, but loved taking Sam and Annabelle to school, even though we were late!
If you are ever in Louisville, you must go to Carmichael's Bookstore. I just fell in love with it. Of course, Joseph Beth in Lexington is a must too. Both stores were so gracious, so lovely. I ate two Hot Browns, one piece of Derby pie, and tasted a lot of bourbon.
Tonight I will be at the Redwood Library in Newport at 6. In Dennis on the Cape at 2 tomorrow. And at the Middletown, RI Library on Saturday at 3. Details are here under my Events. I hope to see you!
I'm looking forward to Memorial Day Weekend, mostly spent at home or nearby. Tomorrow night Sam is playing one of the 7 dwarves at a fundraiser for Kaleidescope Theater, in an upside down fairy tale take on Snow White. At 6'4, he isn't usually cast as a dwarf!
A small cocktail party here on Saturday, and then I get to be a guest at a cocktail party in Chatham on Sunday. I anticipate time with good friends and family, some sunshine, and reconnecting with some people I haven't seen in a while. I hope all of you have a glorious long weekend too~
