Another rainy day! I have some very good memories about rainy days. But today I am feeling sad, remembering, perhaps.

So I will write on brighter things! My book tour for THE RED THREAD is just amazing! I will update my EVENTS later in the week. But I am just thrilled about all of the exciting places I will be appearing.

For the next few weeks, I will be working hard on my newest project: a series for middle readers. The stories revolve around Maisie and Felix, twins who have been dislocated with their newly divorced mother from NYC to a small apartment in one of the mansions in Newport. They sneak into the mansion itself one night and accidentally time travel to meet famous, forgotten Americans. The first book brings them to Clara Barton. There are three more to follow, but for now it is Clara Barton all the time! It is such fun to research and to write. Saturday I visited her childhood home in Oxford, MA. Today I read three books about her life. More details to come as I write, and of course as publication draws near next year!

My linoleum dish rag is finally revealing its pattern. I was getting worried! But I'm on Row 15, and I see the diamonds grow and shrink. Very cool. This is great knitting for when you feel blue because it takes a lot of concentration. I highly recommend trying it!

I hope the Ides of March are bringing you only good news!
